CIDADE DE ILHABELA (CDI) converted from VLCC, the refit mainly included the addition of a multi-point mooring system, an oil recovery platform, main deck replacement, cabin reinforcement, a new growth area and a new combustion tower base, nacelle restoration and cabin sanding and special coating.

After the refit, the CDI, which utilizes the most technologically advanced multi-point mooring system available, will be self-sustaining and will not need to be docked for overhauling for 25 years.
